Biography

There is also a record of marriage between Violet E Stewart and Robert C Bergthold on 6 Jul 1943 in Olympia, Washington.

A record of marriage between Violet Evelyn Bergthold and Fred Bloomer on 9 Nov 1946 in Thurston, Washington.

When she divorced George Doniego in 1967, her surname was Peterson, suggesting she was previously married to a Peterson.[1]

Violet was born in Thurston, Washington 15 January 1911, daughter of Henry Sage and Clara Riley.[1]

In 1920, Violet's widowed mother was working as a servant in Tacoma, Ward 5, Pierce, Washington, United States; Violet, age 9, was living as a "lodger" in same ward.[2]

Violet married, at the age of 17, Charles Stewart, by whom she had a son by the 1930 census, at which time, her mother, now the widowed Clara B. Hill, was living with them in Thurston, Washington. Charles worked as a laborer at a logging camp.[3]

Charles O. Stewart was born 26 Mar 1907 in Washington state; he died 9 April 1998 in Thurston, Washington.[4] Given this, he and Violet must have divorced (see below). By the 1940 census, Violet and Charles had four children, a son and three daughters. Charles worked doing "veneer work" for a lumber company.

At the time of her 1952 marriage to George B. Doniego, she was Violet E. Peterson, suggesting a marriage in between Charles and George. Her marriage to George ended in divorce in 1967.[5]

The 1968 Stockton city directory must have been prepared prior to their November 1967 divorce, as they are still listed together in it:

"Doniego Geo B (Violet E), Mtcemn Robt Chargin H6026 Crescenda Av."[6] She was Violet E Doniego when she died in August 1981 in or near Stockton, California.[7]

The California Death Index claims she died in Santa Clara, California.[ [2]
