Buried Troy Cemetery, Beverly, Wentworth, Ontario. "Sager Malachi Sager, a U.E.L. and a native of Alsace, then occupied by the German, came to Canada to escape the Germans. He celebrated his 91st birthday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Wm. Robb, now the home of his granddaughter, Mrs. Geo. Wood, where his children presented him with over a hundred new coins of varied values. He told them how his grandfather, Daniel Sager had assisted in taking Quebec by General Wolfe, and how he had taken part in the war of 1812. At that time there were only a few houses where Hamilton now stands, he was offered 12 lots for a season's work. He told how it had taken him two days with a team of oxen to take a bus. of wheat to Flamborough Grist Mill. He told of the rebellion of 1837 and how Col. Chisholm and 500 men had breakfast on his lawn on their return from routing Duncombe's forces at Little Scotland." "A Tweedsmuir Village History"
