Biography

James 'Leonard’ Sain was born June 30, 1908,[1]in Texas. He was the son of John Saine and Sarah Thornton. He was the 3rd child of 5 children. He was 2 years old in 1908, on that years census, living with his Parents, John L and Sarah Saine, on the Fort Worth & Decatur Road in Tarrant, Co., Texas. His siblings listed on the 1910 Census were V. L (Virgil)-8, and L.O.(Lillian)-4.[2] At age 11 he was with his parents on the farm in Justice, Ellis, Texas, with siblings, Virgil Saine-17-, Lillie Saine-13, Joybelle Saine -4, and Thoy Dell Saine-4-son.[3] His mother died April 1922, when he was 13 years old.

He was Living with Brother Jack (Virgil) in 1930 after mother died.[4]

James ‘Leonard’ married Lillian Ann Emmert in about 1930, when he was 22 years old. Children:

  2. Josephine Sain (1934-2019)[6]
  3. John Milton sain (1936-1951)[7]
  4. Joy Marie Sain (1939-)
  5. Sally Ann Sain (1948-)[8]

In1935-April,1940, they were living in Rice, Navarro, Texas, where He was an Attendant in A Filling Station (Gas Station).[9]

His wife Lillian Ann passed away on August 13, 1981, in Ennis, Texas, at the age of 71. They had been married 50 years.

He died on February 4, 1983, in Ennis, Texas,[10] when he was 74 years old, and was buried in the Myrtle Cemetery.[1]
