SAINT—DALY
A pretty wedding was celebrated at the Sacred Heart Church, Semaphore, on October 4, when Jane Frances, youngest daughter of Mrs. K. and the late J. Daly, of Semaphore, formerly of Jamestown, and William Matthew, second son of Mr. W. and the late Mrs. Saint, of Jamestown, were married. The Rev. Father Kenny officiated. The bride entered the church on the arm of her brother, Sergt. M. J. Daly, of Thebarton, and was neatly gowned in white silk georgette trimmed with pearls, and wore the orthodox bridal veil, which was worn over the face and held in place with a coronet of pearls. She also carried a shower bouquet of white flowers, ferns, and white streamers, and wore the bridegroom's gift, a gold wristlet watch. The bridesmaid, Miss Eileen Reid (cousin of bride) was frocked in powdered blue georgette, the skirt composed of folds, with floral posy at waist, and wore a black model hat. She carried a posy of pink sweetpeas, roses, forget-me-nots, and maiden hair fern, and wore the bridegroom's gift, a knife-edged aquamarine bangle. Mr. Colin Saint, of Jamestown, acted as best man. Nora Healy, of Semaphore (niece of the bride) played the "Wedding March." After the ceremony the party adjourned to the Wondergraph Cafe on the Esplanade for the reception. The bride's mother (Mrs. K. Daly) received the guests, wearing charmeuse black silk with a black marocain hat. Among those present were Mrs. M. Daly, Mr. J. Healy, Mrs. J. O'Dea (Seven Hills), Mrs. D. Fox (Melrose), Miss S. Reid (Carrieton), Miss N. Healy, Mrs. E. Wall (Jamestown), Miss N. O'Dea, Misses M. and R. Wall, Mrs. C. Saint (Wilmington), Miss G. Saint, Mrs. A. Saint (Adelaide), Mrs. J. Riley.
The bride's gift to the bridegroom was a leather suitcase. The happy couple left by the Melbourne express to spend their honeymoon in the eastern States. The bride travelled in a smart fawn costume with small model hat to match (slightly turned off the face), and wore a black fox fur coat, the gift of the bride's mother. Their future home will be at Prospect.
