Surname could also be Sailing. Calvin died sometime between the 1860 census and the 1870 census. The family was in Missouri in 1860 and his re-married wife was in Kansas in 1870. I have yet to determine if the two children listed with her on the 1870 were Calvin's or her new husband's although they are both listed as Dixon not Saling. (UPDATE: newer information appears to indicate that they are Calvin's children and they will be attached as such)
See photo and see Clotilda's Saling-222 profile for additional notes. (Update 2021: I once had Clotilda and Calvin listed as siblings but have found no evidence to support that and have disconnected them) Many of the families listed on this census are inter-related. Calvin & Sophronia are listed next door to Clotilda & her 3rd husband Dempsey Standley.

IF the relationship of Calvin to Clotilda is correct, Calvin would be my third great grand Uncle. His children would be my first cousins four times removed.
