Biography
Anna Salisbury was probably born about 1701/2 as her parents marriage settlement was made in 1701, and she herself married in 1721.
Anna Salisbury married George Notley on 6 Nov 1721 at Cricket St Thomas, Somerset, England.[1]
Her husband's father George Notley (bef.1662-abt.1731) had sometime between 1693 and 1697, purchased the lease on the Manor of Cricket St. Thomas from Preston Hippisley for £200 per annum. By 1730 he had purchased a lease on land in Chillington, Somerset.
Anna and George Notley had two children:
Mrs Anna Notley was buried 25 Oct 1750 at Chillington. [2]
Research Notes
Some later Notley descendants use the name Salusbury. It is clearly signed and written as Salisbury in the deeds, settlements and indentures of James Salisbury, Anna's father, as well as those documents relating to her brother, James Salisbury.
Her mother's will has been found in the name of Rachel Meacham. She mentions her daughter Anna, wife of George Notley. [3] Rachel Salisbury of West Dowlish, married Thomas Meacham ( of Combe St Nicholas ) at Combe St Nicholas on the 20th Dec 1722 [4] [5]
