Biography

Richard Salisbury, son of Salisbury-2298|John Salisbury]] (1794–<1851) & Mary Barrow (~1801– ), was baptised on 10 December 1820 in Preston, Lancashire, England.^[1]

In the 1841 census Richard (age 20) was living with his parents & siblings on New Hall Lane, Preston, Lancashire, England.^[2]

Richard married Jane Butcher on 11 November 1844 at St Leonard Church in Walton le Dale, Lancashire, England.^[3] The couple had no known children.

In the 1851 census Richard (age 30) was the married son of Mary Salisbury on New Hall Lane, Preston, Lancashire, England. He was a baker & his wife was working as a washerwoman and visiting friends in Fishwick.^[4]

In the 1861 census Richard (age 39) was the married head of household in Preston, Lancashire, England. He was a Bread Baker.^[5]

In the 1871 census Richard (age 51) was the married head of household in Preston, Lancashire, England. He was a baker and Jane worked as a bonnet maker. His nephew Robert, also a baker, and niece Agnes were staying with them.^[6]

Jane died in 1879, and Richard died the following year (aged 60), on October 7, 1880, both in Preston, Lancashire, England, United Kingdom.^[7] He was buried with her at Old Preston Cemtery in Fishwick, Lancashire, England, United Kingdom.^[8]
