John Salisbury was born in Saughall-Massey, Cheshire, England.

John Salisbury was born in 1815 in Saughall-Massey, Cheshire, England and was baptised at the Church of St Oswald in Bidston on March 26, 1815^[1]. His parents were Thomas Salisbury (1791 - 1859) and Ann (Much) Salisbury (1794 - 1857).

John married Harriet Jones (~1815 - 1895) on September 17, 1837 in St Nicholas' Church, Liverpool, Lancashire, England.^[2]

John died on January 5, 1892 in Frankby aged 77 from chronic nephritis and uraemia - both kidney related, with his daughter-in-law Hannah in attendance.^[9]. His death certificate gave his occupation as road labourer.
