Served in the revolutionary war as a captain in the Henry County militia and resigned in June 1780. He was the first sheriff of Henry County Virginia. He died in April 1823 at Martinsville, Henry County, Virginia.
His Find A Grave memorial says he was born in Goochland County, Virginia in 1736, and that he died 23 April 1823 in Henry County Virginia.[1]
