Biography
Sarah Salter was born in 1820 in Farleigh Hungerford, Somerset, England, United Kingdom. Her parents were William Salter, a shearman and Sarah Miell. Sarah was baptised on 3 April 1820 in Farleigh Hungerford, Somerset, England.[1]
When she was 22 years old Sarah married Samuel Cole, a gardener, on 11 November 1843 in Wellow, Somerset, England.[2]
In the 1851 census Sarah was 30 years old and living with her husband and 4 children in Wellow, Somerset, England.[3]
In the 1861 census Sarah was 41 years old and living with her husband and six children in Shepton Mallet, Somerset, England.[4] By 1871 Sarah and Samuel only had three children living at home with them in Oakhill, Ashwick, Somerset, England.[5]
In 1901 Sarah was 81 years old an living with her son Arthur and his family in St Giles, Northamptonshire, England.[6]
Sarah's death was registered in the Jan-Feb-Mar quarter of 1907 in the Northampton district.[7]
Research Notes
Sarah may have been christened twice in error. There is a second baptism for a child named Sarah in 1829, however there are no additional records for a child born in about 1829 (death, 1841 census, marriage), however the profile has been made for her here Sarah Salter (1829-)
