On 17 Dec 2018 My one year anniversary on Wikitree I'm only a day late in celebrating!
Today is Monday, 16 Dec 2019. Two Years on WikiTree today. When I first started here on WikiTree I would not have believed that I would make it to two years. It was really rough going in the beginning. But have to love the G2G feed and all those who have helped make the journey get easier every day. So thank you WikiTree I'm so glad I found you!
I am a "family genealogist". I work on both my husbands family and my family. I keep saying I have 12,000 profiles to add and the number never seems to go down because every time I research to enter another profile here on WikiTree I continually add more people to my Ancestry.com account. Briefly some of the names are; Halpin, Kornbau, Eisensmith, Parthemore, Salvatore, Del Carlino, Diodata, Guida, Hunt, West, Ulrich, Scarborough......
Upon my husbands retirement (Gregory Halpin), then Mayor Kim Bracey, named him as Chief Historian for the Department of Fire and Rescue Services. We had an opportunity this past August to collaborate on Rev. Samuel Henry Stein legacy to our city's fire department and our state Pennsylvania State Fireman's Association and his profile here on WikiTree. I am looking forward to be able to collaborate with him on more profiles here on WikiTree.
I am currently part of three projects on WikiTree;
1. Presidential Project Page I work on Chester Arthur our 21st US President.
2. I am a Data Doctor for the Italian Project
3. Member of the Data Doctor Project
Challenges I participate in are the "Saturday Sourcing Sprints" and the Sourcerers' Challenge, a monthly challenge. I do not participate to win but to help improve our shared "WikiTree Family"! And then there is the yearly Source-A-Thon and I am on the Mid-Atlantic team.
I consider what I do in the projects and challenges part of "paying it forward" for so many here on WikiTree have been a tremendous help to me!

We recently left a message on your profile to check in with the Profile Improvement Project (PIP). Would you like to continue with the Project? If so, please respond to let us know. We would also like to hear from you with any ideas or suggestions.
If we don’t hear from you within 14 days we will remove you from the Project. You're welcome to rejoin the project with a quick Voyage refresher.
Sincerely,
Debi Hoag and Kay Knight, Co-Leaders, Profile Improvement Project
Robin Shaules, Project Coordinator, Profile Improvement Project
The Profile Improvement Project (PIP) is performing a check-in. The Project operates in a team structure with these participant PIP Teams -- The Category Team, the Unknowns Team, and three Biography Teams. There is also the Voyage Team which guides new Voyagers. See the Profile Improvement Project Teams for a brief outline of each team.
You're currently identified as a member of the Biography Team, working on profiles from your watchlist and other profiles that interest you. The other two Biography Teams work on Abandoned and Popular profiles from the provided lists. Please let us know if you are content with your current Team or would like to change to one of the others.
If you have not already done so, we invite you to join the email GoogleGroup and text chat Discord channel for our project. (You will need your Wiki ID for both). Neither is required; we also use the Profile_Improvement tag in G2G for Project announcements.
We thank you for all you do to help the Profile Improvement Project meet its goals. We would like to hear about the successes you’ve had and would also appreciate any feedback you have to help improve the Project. Please share your thoughts in a reply to this comment or via private message to one of us.
Sincerely,
Debi Hoag and Kay Knight, Co-Leaders, Profile Improvement Project

This is Chris from the Italy Project. As part of the annual project check-in, can you fill in the project survey? This will let us know that you are still interested in the project and which teams you'd like to participate in.
Thanks and have a great day!
We wrote to you about the check-in for Profile Improvement Project (PIP) a couple of weeks ago. Would you like to continue in Biography Team Level 1 where we have placed you? That's the Team that works on improving profiles from both your own watchlist and projects you are involved with to Level 1 of the PIP Profile Standards.
We would like to hear from you with any ideas or suggestions. If you do not wish to participate in the Project, please let us know. If we don’t hear from you within 7 days we will remove you from the Project, but we will welcome you back at any time.
Sincerely,
Debi Hoag and Robin Shaules Co-Leaders, Profile Improvement Project
The Profile Improvement Project (PIP) is performing its first annual check-in with our project members. Please review the following and let us know if you are content where we have placed you or would like to be more involved.
We are in the process of transitioning to a team structure. There will be three participant PIP Teams to start -- The Maintenance Category Team, the Unknowns Team, and the Biography Team. There is also the Voyage Team who guide new Voyagers. See the Profile Improvement Project Teams for a brief outline of each team. You're currently identified as a member of the Biography Team Level 1, working on profiles from your own watchlist and whatever else you find. Biography Teams Levels 2 and 3 will work on designated profiles for notables (Level 3) and everyday people (Level 2). Please let us know if you would like to help with another Team.
You joined the Project before the Voyage started in late 2018. We would like to invite you to consider a "fast track" Voyage, especially if you would like to work at a higher level on the Biography Team. If you’re interested, choose a profile ‘’’from your own watchlist’’’ that you have completed to the best of your ability and compare it to the Voyage Biography Standards. If your profile is at Level 2 or better, include a link to the profile in your response to this check-in for a “fast track” review.
We would also like to invite you to join the email GoogleGroup and text chat Discord channel for our project. (When you request to join our GoogleGroup, please be sure to include your Wiki ID). Neither is required; we also use the Profile_Improvement tag in G2G for Project announcements. You will find more information on the GoogleGroup.
We thank you for all you do to help the Profile Improvement Project and WikiTree. The Project’s mission is to:
We know you’re working on profiles *smile* We would like to hear about successes you’ve had toward the Project’s goals. We would also appreciate any feedback you might have to help us improve the Project. Please share your thoughts in a reply to this comment or privately via private message to either of us.
Sincerely,
Debi Hoag and Robin Shaules Co-Leaders, Profile Improvement Project
Since you manage, or have contributed to, a number of Prentiss profiles I invite you to check-out the new One Name Study for the Prentice/Prentiss surname. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Prentice_Name_Study

I keep getting messages from you to change the privacy settings to 'open' on certain profiles I'm the Manager of. Most of the profiles you link to are already open. Why then am I getting messages still.? With regards, Lexi
Thanks for letting me know about the correct setting for Emma https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Craun-16. I've fixed this.
Thanks for pointing out that Levi Stanford's birth predates the U.S.A.
I am Leslie William Bell and I am new to Wikitree. When I searched my name in Wikitree I was surprised how much research John Manning had done on my family. Thank You John. Today I noticed you had been editing my Grandfathers Profile. Though I don't see much change What is a Data Doctor? Thank you for your help.

I love this new comment system. It will let us communicate so much faster and I feel that new users will now feel more willing to ask for help!
I'll get back to you a little later about the Welcome to WikiTree!

My bad, I must have been interrupted and lost my place. Sorry for aggravation of getting two emails vs one. I always manage to send at least one person a duplicate/second message, guess you were the lucky one this time.
I'm a direct descendant of William Henry Rowley, now listed as Rowley-1438, and my Rowley-???? is gone (I didn't write down the number). I had proposed a merge which was evidently accepted and executed backwards. This also effects Van_Zile-39 which is correct for spouses, parents, and children. I am not on the trusted list for Van_Ziles-1 so I can't merge. I'm new here, my documentation is base3d on US Census data which proves Rowley-1438 and Van_Ziles-1/Van_Ziles-39 could not have been born in 1762/1760 as listed on their headstone. I'm new here and would love to have more help. Judy Bramlage chips in when she can as well. Did you see my census work and narrative in Rowley-1438 profile?
Many thanks for your comment ref: John Dixon (11588) but I am afraid I do not understand. I have two John Dixon's in my history and both of them have their profiles open. I am at a loss of what to do.
Regards
Richard
I am happy to report that the First Responders Project is now a SubProject of the Global Project. As we transition to the new Project page, I wanted to reach out and see if you were still interested in being a part of this project?
See: Project:First Responders
Thx for pointing that out to me.
Now, it would be useful to ask WikiTree to do that automatically (and send an email to the profile owner after opening it). I would surely give it my vote - too busy now for anything else, sorry.
Kind regards, Wim
Hopefully it is on the list with the powers that be.
I see it as a "Policy" not a suggestion/error.
Thanks Louann. Privacy opened. Vic
I don't understand the duplicate sources message you sent. I don't see what is repeated. Could you clarify? Thanks. Ellen
Wish there was an easier way than sorting by Privacy and then birth dates. It's too easy to miss death dates! I do this at the beginning of each year but in March I had an old GEDCOM of about 1000 that was entered by a now deceased WikiTreer. I usually stay ahead a year.
Is it OK to remove your comments?
Thank you.
