- Major commissions included Keele Hall in Staffordshire, Thoresby Hall in Nottinghamshire. He repaired and carried out work on the castles at Norwich, Newark, Carisbrooke, Windsor and Alnwick. He undertook work at the Tower of London and built Peckforton Castle in Cheshire from scratch.
