Biography

Cecile was born in 1927.^[1][2] She was the daughter of Meyer Salwen and Miriam Kahanski. She married Walter Feder in 1952.^[3][4]

Cecile died in 2011.^[5]

Obituary

FEDER--Cecile. The Yeshiva University Family is saddened by the passing of Cecile (Salwen) Feder, the first Registrar of Stern College for Women, and an Assistant Professor of Mathematics. She, with her beloved husband, the late Dr. Walter Feder, were YU Guardians. Heartfelt condolences are extended to her family Martin (and Danielle) Feder, Roslyn (and Marvin) Lipsky, and Carole (and Noach) Simon, her grandchildren and in-laws Doris Feder Getzler and Yeshiva College Overseer, Rabbi Aaron (and Shirley) Feder.
