Research Notes
There is confusion over Friedrich's heritage on other websites, and he is linked to the wrong father and grandfather. Very thorough research has confirmed the identify of his parents and grandparents as are indicated in this profile and that of his connected father and grandfather.
Please do not connect him to different parents before reviewing the documentation and consulting with the profile manager.
Friedrich "Fred" Saltzmann is the son of Johann Peter Saltzmann and Elisabeth Fritzler, as noted in his death record. His grandfather was Christian Jakob Saltzmann, and his great grandfather was Johann Peter Saltzmann.
His father was not Georg Peter Saltzmann. Georg Peter and Johann Peter were first cousins; their fathers were brothers. They are direct line descendants in the only Saltzmann family in Grimm, Russia. Although they are closely related, they are different people.
Although Georg Peter Saltzmann married a woman named Elisabeth, she is not the Elisabeth Fritzler referenced in Friedrich Saltzmann's death record.
Based on immigration and census records from Russia and the United States, Georg Peter Saltzmann did not have a son named Friedrich born in 1894 in Grimm, Russia, who immigrated to the United States in the early 1900s.
Friedrich's grandfather was not Johann Adam Saltzmann.
For a more detailed discussion about the co-mingling of resources for these men, see his father's profile, Johann Peter Saltzmann.
