Biography
Jessie was Blackfeet.
1\4 PEIGAN INDIAN, RANCHER, m.SARAH SPENCER, FATHER TO 3 DAUGHTERS; MELBA, ALMA, ROMA. WENT TO SCHOOL WITH CHARLES MARION RUSSEL. FRIENDS WITH THE OHARE BROTHERS WHOM LATER SOLD THEIR FARM TO CHICAGO TO CREATE AN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT.[1]

- Jesse is age 19 during the "Peigan Blackfeet Census take on June 30 1896, by Indian Agent George Steele. Jesse is Single and his age of 19 lets us know that he was most likely born about 1876/7. Jesse's Samples, age 19 (transcriber says age 9 /possible error), number-1979[3]
Marriage
- Jessee J Samples and Sara Spencer applied for their marriage license on the 16th day of August 1901. Their marriage License number was 164, county of Teton, State of Montana. The marriage license states that Jessee was age 27, and that he had been married once before. The marriage license also states that Jessee J Samples was of "1/4 indian blood".[4]
- Jesse J Samples and Sara Spencer married in Aug. of 1901 at Altyn, Teton, Montana.[5]
