Birth and Parents

Joshua Sampson was born in Massachusetts.

Joshua, the first son and second of six children of Amos Samson (alias Sampson) and Deborah Samson (alias Sampson) was born say 1750 at Duxbury, Massachusetts. He was christened on 16 September 1759 at Duxbury.[1]

American Revolutionary War Service

Corporal Joshua Sampson served with Massachusetts Militia during the American Revolution.

Joshua Sampson served as a Corporal with the Massachusetts Militia during the American Revolutionary War and is honored by the Daughters of the American Revolution for his service. [2]

Marriages and Children

Joshua was married twice. He married 1) Rachel French, the daughter of Gideon and Elizabeth (Thayer) French, on 2 April 1773 at Braintree, Massachusetts. on 2 April 1773 at Braintree, Massachusetts.[3] They has six children born at Braintree:

Rachel (French) Sampson died on 23 June 1787 in her 34th year at Braintree.

Joshua married 2) Susannah Parkhurst [llisted as Parkis] on 26 May 1790 at Boston, Massachusetts.[11]They had four children born at Braintree, Massachusetts:
