Biography

Elijah, the son of John and Priscilla (Bartlett) Samson, was born in Duxbury, MA on June 7, 1734 and died there the 12th or 16th of March 1805 in his 72nd year. He married Ruth Bradford in Duxbury on September 3, 1761. Ruth, the daugther of Gamaliel and Abigail (Bartlett) Bradford, was born on July 5, 1743 and died there on April 22, 1812 in her 69th year. She is a descendant of Pilgrims John Alden, William Bradford, William Brewster, Thomas Rogers and Richard Warren.

The will of Gamaliel Bradford of Duxbury dated April 24, proved July 6, 1779, mentions daughter Ruth Samson.
