Maria was born in 1911. She was raised in a big house, in Sherbrooke, Québec (962 Walton street), and eventually moved in the house right next to it (corner of Queen-Victoria boulevard and Walton Street). She lived most of her life in that house, with her younger sister, Alice. They were Avon sellers. They were very religious. They would often cross the USA borders to shop at Plattsburgh, NY, even in their late 80'S/early 90's (Alice would drive all the way). Their house was covered in Victorian style decorations, very luxurious. They had many fur coats and hats. They'd recycle and reuse everything (milk bags, milk cardboard containers, kleenexe boxes, bleach containers, bacon fat to make bacon soap, etc). They were bilingual (french and english). She is burried with most of her family in Sherbrooke's St-Michel cemetery (lot 854-EST).
