G. B. Samuelson was one of the pioneers of British cinema.
George Berthold Samuelson, who was born on July 6th 1889 in Southport, England, was a film producer and director. Samuelson was the creator of Southall Studios, one of the earliest film production companies in the United Kingdom. He also ran G. B. Samuelson Productions from 1914 to 1933. George married Marjorie Vint, and they had four children, including Sir Sydney Samuelson. He died on April 17th 1947.
Some sources give his death as 24th April 1947 - this is probably his burial date
