Biography

Stephen was born to William and Mary in Hampton[1] when the town was still under the jurisdiction of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. He married Hannah Philbrick at age 22 and they raised a family in Hampton, New Hampshire.[2]

Hostilities with groups of indigenous people occurred regularly; Stephen served in King William's War [3] and was garrisoned at Fort William and Mary.[4] He died in Hampton at age 80 of "Old age & ye Common Cold."[5]

Sanborn-22 and Sanborn-37 appear to represent the same person because: Clear duplicate. Found while cleaning up mergers of children and changing designation on mother and father's pages.
