Hannah Sophronia Sanborn was born October 29, 1860 in Prince William, York county, New Brunswick, the daughter of Mayes and Mary Sanborn.[1]
Her father died before the 1881 Census so when she married C. Burpee Pidgeon on September 2, 1896 in St John, St John county, New Brunswick, her father was deceased so only her mother's name was given on the marriage record.[2]
In 1901, the family seems to have been enumerated twice:
In Saint John, New Brunswick, with wife Hannah and children Frank, 28, David, 24, Don, 22 (Burpee's children from a first marriage); Walter, 3 and Harry, 10 months.[3]
In Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, with wife Sophronia and children Walter, 3 and Ira, 10 months[4]
In 1911, Hannah was widowed and living with her three sons in Saint John, NB.[5]
In 1930, Hannah was living in Beverley Hills, California, with sons Walter and Charles.[6]
She died on December 31, 1954 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles county, California. [7][8]
