He was born about 1745 in the Canary Islands and his parents were Nicholas Calvo De Banos and Juana Sanchez Obregon.
Francisco Sanchez married Marie Cabellero.
Francisco emigrated to Louisiana from the Canary Isles in 1779 aboard the ship San Ignacio de Loyola with his wife and two sons and settled in the Barataria colony. By the time of the 1796 flood, he was a widower with seven children. He remained in Barataria after the 1802-4 flood. [1] Although the precise size and location of his property is unknown, evidence states that it was located by the confluence of Bayous de Familles and Coquilles, on the east bank of the former near the Camino Real.[2]
