Biography
Maria Sanchez was born in Mexico about 1864 to Vicente Sanchez and Lucia Martinez.[1]
When Maria was 19, she married Tiburcio Cazares in Matehuala.[1]
The couple had 7 known children, including one set of twins. Maria was widowed in 1896.[2]
She died of heart failure in November 1944. At the time, she was living in Saltillo, Coahuila.[3]
Research Notes
Some unsourced family trees list her place of birth as Doctor Arroyo, Nuevo Leon, but this seems unlikely since both of her parents were from Matehuala, San Luis Potosi. She also married in Matehuala.
It is possible she had an 8th child. There is a death record for a Jose Cazares whose estimated year of birth was 1898. Maria and Tiburcio are listed as the parents. However, Tiburcio died in 1896. It is more likely that this is Jose Diego (born 1896).[4]
Her marriage record estimates her year of birth as 1864. Her death record states she was 78 years old, making her estimated year of birth 1866.
