Sarah (Sanders) Lewis was born in Bicton, Devon, England.

Sarah was born in 6 June 1836 in Bicton, Devon, England. She was the daughter of Abraham Sanders and Betsey Whitlock.

The 1841 England and Wales Census shows Sarah living with her parents and brother Daniel in Yeland Cottage, Bicton, Devon, England.[1] she was four years old.

In 1858 Sarah married Stephen Ludman Asprey in Marylebone, Middlesex, England.[2] She was about 22 years old.

Later that year the couple emigrated to the United States.[3] They sailed to New York on the Unislellim.

Sarah's husband Stephen passed away in 1865.

In 1868 Sarah married Andrew T Burgess.

The 1870 United States Census shows the couple and Sarah's son William living in Portland Township, Ionia, Michigan, United States.[4] Sarah was 33 years old.

The 1880 United States Census shows the couple and Sarah's son William living in Portland, Ionia, Michigan, United States.[5] Sarah was 43 years old.

The 1900 United States Census shows the couple living in Portland Township, Ionia, Michigan, United States.[6] Sarah was 53 years old.

Later that year Sarah's husband Andrew passed away in Portland, Ionia County, Michigan, United States.

On 6 December 1905 Sarah married John Ammon Lewis in Lyons, Ionia, Michigan, United States.[7] She was 69 years old.

Sarah passed away on 28 May 1919 in Portland, Michigan, United States and was buried in Portland Cemetary.[8] She was 82 years old.
