Biography

Jane was aged 8 and living in her parents' family in Ross County, Ohio in 1860.[1]

She married Andrew Matthew McAllister 24 Dec 1868 in McLean County, Illinois.

They moved to Kansas before 1870. In that year the family is found in Augusta, Butler, Kansas. Andrew McAllister was age 26, b. Indiana. Jane was age 19, b. Ohio. Son John was an infant, b. Illinois.[2]

The family was living near Monroe, Snohomish, Washington in 1900. Birth places of the oldest children indicate they had been living in Kansas about 1880. Son Alex was age 20, b. Kansas. Daughter Jane was age 17, b. Kansas. Daughter Grace was age 15, b. Kansas. Daughter Kate was age 13, b. Washington. Son Grover was age 7, b. Washington.[3]

In 1920 Andrew and Jane were living in Olalla, Douglas, Oregon.[4]

Research Notes

In 1880 a McAllister family was living in Galesburg, Kingman, Kansas. Andrew was age 40, b. Indiana. Jane was age 32, b. Indiana. John was age 11, b. Iowa. Irene was age 9, b. Kansas. Bell was age 7, b. Kansas. Mack was age 4, b. Kansas. This is possibly the same family.[5]
