James was born on 24 April 1679 in Essex County, Massachusetts. He is the son of James Saunders and Sarah Page.[1][2] James is named in the will of his father dated 1 November 1718 and proved 10 January 1722 in Essex County, Massachusetts.[3]
James married Elizabeth Whittier on 22 June 1699 in Haverhill, Essex County, Massachusetts.[4]
They had daughters:
Elizabeth, m. James Bradbury.
Ruth, m. Robert Hastings, 2 John Swett.
James married second, Mary UNKNOWN.
He made his will 4 April 1751 and it was proved 8 August 1757 (inventory 28 July).[5]
Research Notes
James had a brother named James Saunders who was born in 1669 and passed away in 1671. This James is apparently named for that brother. In many family trees, he has been confused with that brother. But do keep in mind there were two sons named James born to James Saunders and Sarah Page.
