Biography

Mary Ellen Sanders was NOT Cherokee nor I can I find any other source of Native American blood. However, there is an Ellen Sanders (born in the same area and around the same age) that was 1/4 Native American. Upon further research I discovered that her married name was Sanders and her husband was 3/4 Black. I feel as though I can say with certainty that Mary Ellen Sanders was not a woman of native origin. Instead she was most certainly of Scot-Irish descent.
