Emma Sophia Sanders was born on 1 May 1818. She was the daughter of Thomas Richard Sanders(a Seed Corn and Hop Merchant) and Emma Bale (the daughter of Philip Gould Bale).
In the England Census of 1841, Emma Sanders (aged about 23) was recorded living with her father Thomas Sanders (45), her mother Emma Sanders (45) and seven younger siblings Thomas Sanders (21), Frederick Sanders (20), Elizabeth Sanders (15), Anna Sanders (14), Sophia Sanders (12), William Sanders (9) and Mary Sanders (6) at St. Vincent Parade, Clifton, Gloucestershire.
She married Edward Bowles Fripp on 16 April 1846 at St. George-Brandon Hill, Bristol, Gloucester, by Licence[1]:
They went on to have at least three children.

Her husband Edward died on 5 September 1866.
Just over six months later, Emma Sophia Fripp passed away on 16 March 1867 at the age of 48[3].
