Biography
Private John Sanderson served in the United States Civil War. Enlisted: 24 Dec 1862 Mustered out: 30 Jun 1863 Side: USA Regiment(s): 63rd Ohio Infantry, Co. H.
John H. Sanderson was born circa 1829/1830, in Ohio, a son of Robert Sanderson and Anna McGee. On January 12, 1853, in Hocking county, Ohio, John H. Sanderson married Nancy Mitchel(l) [1]
John left his wife and five children to join the Union Army.[2] He enlisted on 24 Dec 1861 in Ohio. He joined the 63rd Infantry, Co H. He was mustered out on 30 Jun 1863 due to disability. He did survive the war.[3]
He must have been wounded in 1862 when he was awarded a military pension.[4]
John died between 1863 and 1866, which is when Nancy married John R. Cage.
