Samuel married Lizzie L. (Barton) Fisher July 28, 1877, in Lowell, Massachusetts.^[6][7] They lived in Lowell, Middlesex, Massachusetts, United States.^[8]

Samuel O. Sanderson died of "cholera morbus" August 6, 1906, in Chelmsford, Middlesex, Massachusetts, United States.^[9]
