Biography
Catherine Sanderson was born in 1742, in Lancaster county, Pennsylvania, a daughter of George Sanderson and Catherine Jane Ross. Cumberland County was created January 27, 1750, from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. On December 12, 1759, George's father, Alexander Sanderson, deeded him 189 aces of land in Middleton Township, two miles from Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Catherine married Hugh McCormick. [1]
Catherine Sanderson married Hugh McCormick In 1767 and resided in Fermanagh Township, Juniata County, Pennsylvania.
- Catherine's sister Margaret Sanderson, married Robert McCormick, which was Hugh's younger brother. (Two sisters married two brothers). Martha McCormick, was honored as a women Revolutionary War patriot.
By deed dated October 19, 1798, Hugh McCormick and Catharine, his wife, disposed of the farm in Fermanagh Township, and soon thereafter removed with their family to Scott County, Kentucky. Catherine died in 1810 in Scott County, Kentucky. [2]
