Miguel de Dios was born about 1675 to Juan de Dios Sandoval Martinez and Juana Hernandez.[1] In 1693 he moved to New Mexico with his parents.[1] He was in the military and when his parents moved to Santa Cruz, he stayed at the Presidio in Santa Fe. He was married to Lucia Gómez Robledo in 1697 after a long and difficult argument with her mother who did not want to her marry Miguel.[2] They had eight (possibly nine) children:
