Obituary

MR. CHARLES SANDS[7]

News of the death of Mr. Charles Sands, 61 years, of 101 Kinghorne Street, at the District Hospital this morning, was received with sincere regret by his many Goulburn friends.

Mr. Sands was very well known and held in high regard by a host of friends in Goulburn, and his death came as a shock to them. Although he was not closely associated with any organisations in this city, he was one of the city's most well liked citizens, and his death will be a loss to Goulburn.

For many years he had been handicapped by an injury which necessitated the amputation of his legs, but in spite of this setback he always possessed a cheery disposition. A native of this city, he had lived here all his life, working for his father, the late Mr. William Sands, who was an auctioneer in Goulburn. After retiring from this pursuit he managed properties owned by the family in the district.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sisters, Mrs. J. Dixon (Hunter's Hill) and Miss A. C. Sands, of Sydney, who has been in Goulburn for the past six months. The funeral will leave Craig's Parlours at 11 o'clock to-morrow morning for interment at the Church of England portion of the General Cemetery, Goulburn.
