James Sands was born in 1803. He was the son of Robert Sands and Hannah Giblett. James was christened on 5 December 1803 in St Andrew Holborn, London, England.^[1][2]

On 27 October 1838 in Islington, London, he married Anne Shefford.^[3]

James passed away on 26 February 1882 in Hartley Wintney, Hampshire.^[4]
