Liffe Sanford served in the American Revolution as a Sergeant with the 2nd Connecticut Regiment (1781), Continental Army.[3] He may have been present at the execution of Major André, British spy (needs supporting documentation).
Liffe Sanford died on December 3, 1815, in Bridgewater, Litchfield, Connecticut, United States and is buried at the South Cemetery.[4][5]
