Biography

Eliza was born in 1807 in Benenden, Kent and baptised on 7 August of the same year.[1] She is the daughter of Samuel Santer and Mary Judge.

Eliza married William Oxley on 4 June 1829 in Benenden.[2]

Eliza came out to New South Wales with her husband and children on the Roxborough Castle, arriving 20 May 1839.

Eliza's husband William was appointed as a Constable at Mudgee in 1851. He died after interceding in a drunken brawl between Maurice Dalton and James Brandon as a result of injuries on 19 May 1853.

Eliza passed away on 4 January 1869 at Mudgee.[3]

Note: Eliza's will bequeathed home to Jane Elizabeth, wife of Joseph W. Arnold
(Undertaker and witness at Eliza's funeral). Residue to the three children.
