Jean Bernard L'Encoignard was born and baptized on 11 Oct 1747 in Notre-Dame-de-Liesse parish of Rivière-Ouelle, Canada, Nouvelle-France. His parents were Pierre L'Encoignard and Marie Madeleine Dubé. Godparents at the infant's baptism were Bernard Lévesque and Louise Dubé. The officiating priest was Chevalier.[1]

Marriage
Bernard Lancoignard dit Sansterre married Marie Josephe Teriot, daughter of Paul Teriot and Anne Héber, on 14 Nov 1768 in Notre-Dame-de-Liesse parish of Rivière-Ouelle, Province of Québec.[2]

2nd Marriage
Bernard Lancognard dit Sansterre, widower of Josephte Torriau, married Marie Françoise Fournier, widow of Jean François St-Pierre, on 21 Sep 1812 in Saint-André, Bas-Canada.[3]

Death and Burial
Bernard Santerre passed away on 24 Dec 1819 being given the age of around 75 years on the record. His burial was the 28th in Saint-Louis parish cemetery of Kamouraska, Bas-Canada.[4]
