Biography

Charles was a kind loving man with very blue eyes, black hair and quite handsome. When he was older he wore a full white mustache. He began teaching school at the Tiger Vally one-room School House when he was 16 not far from his wife-to-be's family farm.

Charles managed his mother's farm and then he mortgaged it and his own farm to send his three brothers to college.

Charles and Grace Parsons were married Sep 20, 1875 in Union, Knox County, Ohio. They moved to Mt Vernon, Ohio in 1886 where the children grew up. They lived at a fine home at 600 East High St in Mount Vernon.

Across the street at 601 lived William Asa Ackerman #78226360 and wife Mildred He was Vice President of the First National Bank in the town.

Charles was 83 years 3 months and 26 days old when he went to the Lord. He lived at 600 East High Street and was widowed. There is much to tell about this fine man and his family. He died of Carcinoma of the stomach—surprisingly because no one knew he had any trouble with his stomach at all. He never complained.
