Benjamin Harrison Sapp was the Captain of the 29th Alabama Infantry Company "F" Blount County Tiger Boys. He died of smallpox while in service in Mobile, AL, and is buried there. Since he died of smallpox, the railroad wouldn't ship his body to his hometown in Blount County. A Mrs. Ann Curry allowed him to be buried in her Magnolia Cemetery plot.
Prior to his military service, he served as the Blount Springs, AL Justice of the Peace and Postmaster. He and his wife Harriet operated the Goffe Hotel (later named the Duffee Hotel) in Blount Springs, AL.[1]
