Note: At her death, she was "Mrs. Elizabeth Clifford," and was buried as such, but details of her apparent 4rd marriage (including a given name for Mr. Clifford) are not known. She has not been found anywhere in the 1900 or 1910 censuses in Iowa or Missouri as either "Sapp" or "Clifford."[4]

Albia Republican, 14 Jun 1921:S7
Mrs. W. D. Smith received word that her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Sapp Clifford, had passed away at the home of her son, B. S. Sapp, in Dumas, Missouri. The remains were brought to Albia Saturday and on Sunday afternoon at two o'clock, the funeral was conducted by Rev. George Conford of the United Brethren Church. The remains were laid away in Oak View Cemetery. The out-of-town relatives present were her son, John A. Johns and wife of Chicago, Ill., Arthur Smith and wife of Cheyenne, Wyoming, B. S. Sapp of Dumas, Missouri and Mrs. George Sapp and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hunt of Blakesburg.
