Biography

John Sargent, son of John Sargent and Hannah Quimby was born at Amesbury, Massachusetts on March 18, 1721/2. ^[1]

John married first Mary Tucker on February 26, 1744/5. ^[1] Mary was born at Amesbury on February 21, 1722/3, the daughter of Benjamin Tucker and Allis Davis. ^[1]

His father Captain John Sargent, wrote his will on May 17, 1762. In it he left bequests to his surviving children, including son John. ^[2]

Mary's father Benjamin Tucker, of Amesbury, named his daughter Mary Sargent, wife of John Sargent among his heirs in his will written on March 17, 1767. ^[3]

The family resided at Methuen where Mary died on February 28, 1777 in her 55th year. ^[4]

He married second Meriam Swan at Methuen on September 30, 1777. ^[4]
