PEKIN -- Harry F. Sarnes, 85, of 805 St. Julian died at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, 1994, at his home.
Born April 1, 1908, in New Holland to James A. and Inez Manning Sarnes, he married Lorene McAfee on Nov. 5, 1933, in Peoria. She died Jan. 15, 1984. Four brothers and three sisters also preceded him in death.
Surviving are one daughter, Marilyn Ford of Pekin; four grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren.
He was a World War II Navy veteran.
He owned White Hut restaurant in Peoria. In 1949, he bought the Kupboard restaurant in Pekin, which he owned for 17 years. He then worked for the city of Pekin parking meter division, retiring in 1984. He was a member of Pekin Masonic Lodge 29, AF&AM; and Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Peoria.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Noel-Henderson Funeral Home. The Rev. Dr. R. David Goodell will officiate. Visitation will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with a Masonic service at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens, Peoria.
