Giovanni Sarno is born around 1938 in Bracigliano, in Salerno Province, Italy. He is the son of Domenico Sarno and Giovanna Montefusco.
On the manifest of the SS Saturnia, sailing from Naples on 11 February 1948, and arriving in the port of New York on 22 February, Domenico Sarno, 38 (b. 1910), his sons Alfonso Sarno, 12 (b. 1935), Giovanni Sarno, 10 (b. 1937), and Germane Sarno, six months old (b. 1947), and wife Giovanna Sarno Montefusco, 39 (b. 1908), appear in lines 23-27. Domenico and his sons are all US citizens.They are going to 17 Shillingford St., Springfield, MA. Giovanna leaves her father, Francesco Montefusco, in Bracigliano.[1]
Giovanni plays football, and then is a hair stylist. He marries Marisa Pangue. Giovanni and Marisa have two daughters, Sophia Giovanna and Nicole L. His obituary also names a stepdaughter, Vanessa Fuda.[2]
Giovanni dies 11 December 1989 at age 51.[2] He is buried in St. Michaels Cemetery in Springfield.[3]
