Josiah Sasser was a North Carolina colonist.

Biography

Colonel Josiah Sasser was born in 1745 in Colonial North Carolina, a son of John Sasser, Sr. 1715-1785. His father is buried in the Sasser Cemetery, [1] located just past the intersection of NC Hwy 111 South and Slick Rock Road, in Goldsboro, Wayne County, North Carolina. On December 20, 1777, Colonel Josiah Sasser married Elizabeth Bryan, born 28 May 1751.

Josiah "Saser" served in the military during the American Revolutionary War, in New Bern, Craven County, North Carolina. [2] Wayne County was established during the American Revolutionary War on November 2, 1779, from the western part of Dobbs County.

Josiah's brother, John Sasser, Jr. was born in 1748. All of the children of John Sasser, Sr. are listed on his Find A Grave memorial.

Sasser-229 and Sasser-63 appear to represent the same person because: they share the same parents and many of the same siblings. The difference in birth dates needs to be rectified.

John was born in 1711, in Wayne County, NC, USA. Josiah married Elizabeth Sasser (born Bryan) on month day 1770, at age 21 at marriage place. Elizabeth was born on May 2 1751, in Johnstown, Bertie, North Carolina, United States. They had 7 children: Thomas Sasser, Blake Bryan Sasser and 5 other children. Josiah passed away on month day 1775, at age 26 at death place, North Carolina.
