Arthur Asa Satterwhite, Sr. b. 7 March 1933 d. 29 April 2013 m. Ruth Darlene Nelson in Dallas. Lived in Forney, Texas.

Obit: Arthur Asa Satterwhite, Sr. of Forney, TX born March 7, 1933 passed away on April 29, 2013. Loving husband, Daddy, Paw Paw, and Great-Paw.Preceded in death by parents William Satterwhite and Flora Cox Satterwhite, brothers James and Carl Satterwhite and sisters Yvita Jones and Flora Mae Brannon.Survived by wife of 59 years Darlene, sister Polly Matlock and sister-in-law Martha Nelson; children Butch & Mary Satterwhite, Prissy & Tim Lovelace, Gary & Kelli Satterwhite. Grandchildren: Michelle & Danny Connolly, Christian and JustinVauthier, Jennifer and Chris Groves, Shaun and Misti Burns, Jeremy and Ari Lovelace, Ashley Satterwhite, Aaron and Melissa Lovelace, Tanner Satterwhite, Candace Satterwhite and Chase Satterwhite. Great-grandchildren: Zack Young, Ryan Carlisle, Bryanna Carlisle, Madison Hickman, Tori Groves, Hannah Groves, Wyatt Vauthier, Jackson Vauthier, Kenzi Burns, Peyton Burns, Sami Lovelace, Jackson Lovelace, Andrew Asa Lovelace and Leah Lovelace.

Arthur graduated from Forest Avenue High School in 1950. He married his high school sweetheart in 1953.There were times that Darlene would sneak out of class to meet Arthur in front of the school to go and get a coke! Arthur told Darlene he would marry her the first day he met her and she said you are crazy yet they were together for 59 short years. Darlene says she would take another 59+ years with him.

He went to work for Burroughs Corp and retired after 30 years of service.He then worked for ADAC and retired after 17 years of service.

He was a faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church for over 60 years where he served as Deacon for 34 years.He taught Sunday School, coached the ball teams, generally raised half of the youth group there. Arthur and Darlene's home was always full of young people anytime day or night! Arthur loved his Lord his Wife and his Family.
