Biography

James Harrison “Jim” Satterwhite, Sr. b. 11 Oct 1889, Henrico, VA. d. 3 Dec 1967 m. (1) 17 Jan 1916, Jean F. Hartman b. 1893, PA. div. m. (2) 1940 census, Fara Lee ? b. 1901 in Texas. James attended school in London, England when his father was working there. He earned a Mechanical Engineering degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in 1911. Buried in Tulsa, OK. Registered for WWI draft in OK.

James Harrison “Jim” Satterwhite III, provided the following: His grandfather, James Harrison “Jim” Satterwhite, Sr. worked in the Pennsylvania oil industry, he invented the gas flowmeter which is still in use today at all homes and businesses that use natural gas. He moved to Tulsa, OK to work for the company that manufactured the meters.
