DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:

Hi Katie,

I see that there are 3 Sauls listed in the 1820 census for Lawrence, MI: John Sr, John Jr. and James in sequence. I'm thinking that James is another son of John Sr. Do you have any insight into this?

I also think that both John Jr. and James served in the war of 1812. Let me know any thoughts you may have on James Sauls.

Thanks,

Mary Baker
