Biography

Harold DeForest Saunders was born 16 January 1898 in Nassau, Bahamas to Charles Saunders and Frances Tuttle.

He moved to Miami during the Depression and worked for years as a custodian at Miami Shores Elementary School.

Harold married Alice G Colbert, daughter of William Lyles Colbert and Jennie Turney Colbert, 31 December 1941 in Dade County, Florida.

Several years after their marriage, the couple established a nursery in Little River. They moved to Ocala in 1955.

He passed away 22 May 1982 in Ocala, Florida and was buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Ocala.
