Chrissy was the daughter of Thomas Saunders and Averilla Stiff. She was married to George Blake in Christ Church of Middlesex County, Virginia in 1781. She was not mentioned in the will of Thomas Saunders dated the 1st of December 1788 indicating she was not living.
Two sons of George Blake, Sr., named Armistead Blake and Bartley Saunders Blake, were named in Thomas Saunders will, appearing to be issue of a deceased daughter. It appears George Blake had again married to Mary B[not legible] the 6th of February 1786. He named the aforementioned sons in his will of 1790 and widow Mary. He appears to have died in Middlesex County prior to the 22nd of July 1793.
Thomas Saunders named two sons of George Blake Sr in his will, lending a slave to George, and after his death to these two children. (Middlesex Wills Book G. p 44) Thomas Saunders, dated 1 Dec 1788, proved 26 Jan 1789. Wife, Avarillah Saunders. Son, Thomas Saunders; Son, Jacob Stiff Saunders; Daughter, Betty Blake; Son, George Saunders; George Blake, Sr. and his two sons Armistead Blake and Berkley Blake. Daughter, Avarillah Clark Saunders; Friend, John Hodges. Exors: Wife and son, Thomas Saunders. Wit: Nelson Humphries and Frances Widmore.[2]
Thomas Blake named his son George and the same two grandsons.
