Abigail was born 13 January 1723, the daughter of Henry Saunders and Mary Mitchell Saunders of Haverhill, Massachusetts[1]
In January 1754, she married Joseph Pitman, the son of Abiel Pitman and Abigail Hooper of Marblehead[3]
Tax records show they lived in Salem and then Beverly. In 1762, the family emigrated to Nova Scotia, and were among the first settlers of Yarmouth Township [4]
They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 6 daughters.
Their children included:
Abigail (Saunders) Pitman died in January 1807 at age 84, and was buried in Brooklyn Cemetery in Yarmouth[7]
